The piano lab is open to you before and after school.  Please come in and practice.

Recital credits for (Company at the state fair) are due Monday

VC/Beginners
Some review and some look ahead to LH C position.
The EQ for the week is:

What are the differences between LH and RH C position?
Please practice Aural Lee and move ahead. 

Delta - Please be able to perform the cadence pattern for the C major scale during your session this week.

Chamber/Women's
Continue to check off those major scales.

  Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm!!  Please practice sight-singing and rhythmic exercises.  You're almost there.  Don't forget scales.  In addition to performing correct notes, rhythm and text in your Italian Art song, style, dynamics, overall musicality and stage presence is important.

VC Beginners

Reminder:
You will be tested on "Ode to Joy" this week at your next session. 

VC/Delta
You will be tested on C, G & D major scales and the #1 cadence for each scale
For those who are ready for repertoire (see me ASAP)
For a perfect score please present:
  • correct notes
  • correct fingering
  • correct rhythm
  • appropriate posture and hand and arm position
  • a steady tempo
Chamber and Women's Rep

Please check off all scales as soon as possible
I'm still waiting for you in the mornings and afternoons (Piano Lab)

9/16

         The Piano lab is open before and after school daily.  You're invited to come in and practice.


         VC Beginners:
  • Please look ahead to "Ode to Joy" pg. 9,  and "Aura Lee, pg. 10. Copies are in the green box in the piano lab.
          VC/Delta:
  • Please be ready to check off Major Scales C, G & D.
  • If you've completed those go on to A,E & B

            VC/Delta, Chamber & WR
  •  The sooner you check off all scales, the sooner you'll get individual repertoire.
  •   Remember the fingering is the same from C to E...B has different fingering and the rest of       the scales will continue to be different.
  • The cadence fingerings never change, regardless of key.

             MR
  •  Review Relative Minors
  •  We will talk about primary chords (Tonic, Sub Dominant, Dominant)
